Welcome back to another edition of “Badass Ladies of Chinese History.” What can we say about Chinese ladies? Well, basically they are are badass–some of the them at least. Every Friday, we will be shedding some light on the “half the sky” that history frequently keeps in the dark.
This week, it’s Wu Zetian (武则天), China’s only female emperor. Wu takes “badass” to a whole new level. Not only did she single-handedly rule the Middle Kingdom for nearly half a century, but she founded her own dynasty. She was a master politician and didn’t shy away from violence in her personal life, all while maintaining peace and prosperity on a national level.
I wrote a report on her in high school. She used her sons as puppets and ruled for a very long run. If I remember she even oust one of her sons from the throne that was a threat to her rule. Bad ass is an understatement.
Spent my evening working on these! Getting ready for Hmong New Year! #pajntaub #hmong #hmongnewyear #newyear #sew #crossstitch #embroidery
Happy Time, More beautiful than a flower #05, 꽃보다…:There was this special where idols and gag men cross dressed and had a beauty contest. Kind of wish they would bring this back. It’d be even more daebak with some of the (male) idol divas.
